The tops were pieced in 1900,and stored in the desert in an old cedar chest all these years. The fabric was in pretty good condition. They were both badly stained,but cleaned up well.
Those are beautiful, Francie! I really love the blue gingham monkey wrenches. You quilted them just like they may have been back in their day.
I have a vintage top or two that need to be quilted. My favorite one is from about the 1950's. Gotta get that sandwiched and quilted. Recently I saw another unfinished vintage quilt at a flea market that I can't stop thinking about, but it's $50 unfinished! It's about 2/3 hand quilted, with the rest left for you to figure out. May have to go back and take another look at it.
