Just hold the button down until bobbin is filled to your satisfaction. I do it all the time. Tighten the tension just a bit to make the thread wind tighter on the bobbin--this more thread. I buy pre wounds for my embroidery machines, but this is so handy for the sewing machines as you can wind a lot at a convenient time. I got mine 5-6 yrs ago on ebay for $15.
