Kitsie's google suggestion a bit further, you might want to google "two colour modern quilts" or similar. You can get some ideas, and if it is in a different colour, you can always alter the colour to red to see if you like it.

PennyHal ... Most any colour will bleed! Just as many say, batiks bleed.
I have had red batiks that did NOT bleed!
Yes, test all fabrics before putting into a quilt ....
.... but there is no need to eliminate a bleeder.
A Retayne treatment is often all that is needed to deal with it.
