I always use either all prewashed or no prewashed. I try not to mix prewashed fabrics and fabrics that have not been prewashed. I do this, keeping in mind, I want the same amount of shrinking all over the quilt when it is finished.

Fabrics do not always shrink evenly.

Great idea on all of these quilts. Nine patch snowball would definately work.

I made a red and white quilt 3 or 4 years ago. It was pinwheels. I donated it to the heart association to auction off.

I would use the pattern "Tumbling Blocks" with the white for the light, red for the dark, and grey for the medium. There is a new tool on sale at http://www.missouristarquilt.com that makes it so much simpler to make without all of the y- seams. I just ordered the ruler as one of their daily deals and I wish I had it many years ago when I made my first TB.

Check Ventura Modern Quilt Guild. Magic Triangles-from Scott- 8/20/15. I found this online & printed it. I'm not so much a modern quilt person but this 1 looks interesting.
