http://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/stjohns/ the dates would be 1936 - 1948. I have tried calling regarding some other serial numbers I have and they will tell you that they can't pinpoint closer than that. If you are looking for the model, it
might be on the machine. If there isn't a model number on the pillar somewhere, a picture would help identify the model.
