The difference is usually a pillow form insert is much thicker than a normal bed pillow.

If it were me ...I'd buy the bed pillow, open it up, take the stuffing out, reduce the size of the cover to fit the size of the new pillow cover. Normally you'd use a pillow form 1-2 inches larger than your outside cover. The larger the form the fuller your pillow will be & you'll have less wrinkling of the cover. Then shove the stuffing back in the original bed pillow cover & sew it shut. This way you have a much denser pillow "form" that will hold up to full body pressure.
