Oh I should have mentioned these are shop hop block $5 kits. Sewbizgirl you inspired me when you suggested I look into row by row. I was considering what to do for a Hawaiian quilt when we did this shop hop and here were all these tropical themed blocks in just the colors the recipient likes. The raw edge appliqué was right up my alley but I sweated bullets over the paper piecing. The top block was from quilt in a day and all the pieces were already cut out. It made it so easy.
I almost always do only original design quilts and never do kits like this but you folks made me rethink this. I do think I was able to take the 5 kits and turn them into an original quilt. I even bought a row by row in Hawaii in June.
