Well, as a genealogist and family historian, I am BEGGING you not to get rid of that stuff. It is priceless to anyone interested in the family history. If there isn't anyone in the extended family who is interested, you can put in plastic bins and store it in the garage. That would be better than getting rid of it, because I can almost guarantee that someday someone will be crying that it was thrown away.
