tl, If I have a 'busy' paper piece, I mark the pattern 'B' for blue (where blue would go)and number at the same time..that way when the phone rings, dogs want out and you lose your concentration of what you are doing...when you go back to it, you can pick it right up and keep it all straight. I had a wise person tell me that once when I was working on a flag...she said by the time you get to the bottom you may realize you had the stripes wrong:)).
