And a "landline" nowadays isn't really a true landline. It is a home phone, usually, hooked into the internet service, with a battery backup. We got a deal like that on Cox and took the line, but, didn't use it and left our "true" landline the way it was. It was a real true landline, with hardwires. We kept it because it never went out even during hurricanes and power outages. When we tried to disconnect it when we moved, they were all confused, trying to turn us over to Uverse because they thought it was a home phone. It took hours and then we went to an ATT store here and had the nice fellow make the call. Whatever he said worked, finally.
