We used to have a consignment shop here. My mother sold some stuff there. For this shop, they started the items at certain prices then every so often (every couple weeks? Every month? I don't remember) there was an automatic 10% taken off the prices. She sold some stuff, but she had one really old creamer than somehow disappared. And unfortunately it was one of her more expensive items at $65.
