We rewire as a team and we have learnt to always rewired and serviced the whole thing. Our first time we didn't think the inside of the motor needed it and we started a small fire in the housing-- oops! Another time we did a complete rewire but didn't clean the carbon off the amateur and it didn't work. We learned our lessons the hard way and now I don't let my DH skip any steps along the way.
