W/ points it is hard to over size and cut down, I don't know if that is what you are doing, but when people are used to doing that for making the blocks it will mess w/ the star points.
This is why I’m reluctant to do triangle blocks. I usually oversize blocks and cut down. The Carrie Nation block gave me a little more confidence. First block I made without the cut down factor.
