Now they want to arm the teachers. That's insanity. First, unless they have military or law enforcement background they aren't going to have the skills needed. Even with training you have to be aware of what's around you. Sometimes it's not safe to shoot due to the surrounding area (people mainly). What will happen if an armed teacher accidentally shoots a student? They need to put trained armed security at the schools not teachers. One of the schools here installed locks on the doors of each classroom that anyone could use to lock the door in an emergency situation. It was simple and effective. I think locking the exterior doors to schools would be a common sense solution too. It wouldn't prevent a problem but it would reduce the chances. Unfortunately, no matter what is done, sometimes you can't prevent something bad happening. JMHO
