I make pillow case type cover from "what was I thinking fabric" (and fabrics donated to me, especially the old polyester that was so popular 30 years ago) fill them with scraps too small for projects, sew it shut & donate to animal shelter for pet beds, I make them all sizes, for cats, small dogs, large dogs. When they get too dirty the shelter can toss them but at least those scraps did some good while they could.
