I had beef and broccoli stir-fry for supper, and it took me about 10 minutes from start to finish, including cutting up the broccoli. I served it with rice noodles, which take about 30 seconds to cook once they hit the boiling water :)
2 steaks, cut into strips
1 pkg beef and broccoli stir-fry sauce
(alternatively, mix soya sauce, water, and a bit of corn starch to make a sauce)
1 large stalk of broccoli
Rice Noodles
Start by cutting your broccoli and rincing and putting into the steamer. Start putting a bit of water in the bottom of one pot, and a couple of cups of water in another pot, bring both to a boil. Then cut the steak into strips, throw into the wok and fry on med-high till the meat is browned. By the time you put your meat into the wok, the water in the other pot should be boiling, so lower the steamer with the broccoli into the pot and steam for about 4 minutes. The water for the rice noodles should be boiling too, by now, so add the rice noodles and stir. Mix the sauce in a little bowl. Once the meat is browned, add the sauce to the wok with the meat (I'm picky, so I drain any fat from my meat, but it's not necessary if there's not too much in the bottom). Drain the noodles. Once the broccoli is done, throw into the wok, mix until the sauce coats the broccoli and the beef, and serve over the rice noodles.
I like this meal because it's really fast and easy, but you have to have room to work because if you're not quick your broccoli could turn to mush, or you could easily overcook the noodles, since everything takes so little time to cook.
I think that's the quickest meal I know how to make.
