How much fun is that?? I look at the squares and go "That was a tote bag, that was a stack and whack, that was a Quilt of Valor, that was a log cabin." I am so glad that you were able to put them to good use. I know I never could have done something like that. I am too obsessive about matching and it gets in the way of creativity sometimes.
