Default Here is another UFO art quilt finished

Hey all,
I finished this UFO art quilt earlier this month and forgot to put it up here. It's another experiment. The top cloth is a piece of pink linen from a drive by fabric drop off I received a few years ago. I used alcohol inks to "dye/stain" it. The dark narrow strips on top of it are pieces of left over batting that I painted using acrylic artists paints, thinned down so they would still be soft enough to sew through-- they're sewn on using vintage red cotton and cotton-wrapped poly thread. The framing batting is also scraps that I hand painted and butted up against the regular batting that is under the top. The black backing fabric (peaking out the edges) is from the same drive by fabric drop off as the top piece. It's quilted using Wonderfil's Invisifil 100 wt. thread in a very pale lavender color that seems to go with everything. Rather than binding it, I decided to let the backing fabric peak out from behind the batting and let the slight fraying add some texture.

Thanks for looking,
Rob
