You ironed it!! :-) They look so different after washing and drying, that I know what you mean about ironing, hoping that it will look newly made again. I did that to a baby quilt once when I was giving it away. I think we just have to accept how they look after laundering. The smooth ones are usually hanging on a wall, and not being used.
