I inherited from my Grandma a floor stand quilting hoop similar to this one, only hers is from some time before the early 1970's, which is when I first saw it.

While I've never done hand-quilting, I'm ready to give it a try, and I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth dragging the hoop down from the attic. Any tips, tricks, thoughts?
