When i get a squash that big, I'll buy a pork roast 3lbs and have the butcher cut it into cubes. Brown the meat in a large pot, add the cut squash, seasonings(salt and pepper, will do fine), water to almost top of the meat and squash, stir in tomato sauce. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally. Do not allow to dry. Squash also release water. It is done when the meat is very tender. Great with steamed rice. Sorry I do not give exact measures as I do no cook like that.
