2 yrs ago took a Viking cruise down the Rhine. It was wonderful but very busy. I was tired when I returned. You have an excursion every day and nothing is close to the Rhine so bus to everything. The food was great and the crew were great. I would do it again but very pricey.
yes they do plan outings. One day we decided to stay on the boat and forego the outing. It was a good choice.
