The machine is in amazing condition! I have heard of many Pfaffs being so dirty and needing a lot of work. Luckily not so for us. The only thing needing replacing was the plug. It appeared slightly corroded and unsafe. So this morning my DH cut the plug off. Then he found an old serger pedal that we have lying around and cut the plug off it. He soldered the serger plug in the place of the corroded Pfaff plug. I have to admit, I had my doubts that a Singer serger plug from the 90's would be compatible with a Pfaff sewing machine from the 50's, but Hubby assured me it would work. He's an electrician, so he knows. And he was 100% right. It works great! He is such a handyman!
We cleaned the laminations inside the motor housing as it ran a bit sluggish on the first try. The Pfaff motors are a bit different than Singer motors, but super easy to figure out. Now all I need to do is oil the #$%& out of it.

I oiled it yesterday, but obviously not enough, because it is pretty noisy now.
Looking forward to my first applique project on her!
