NZ, I am so excited for you - that is an amazing machine and cabinet. I also love Pfaff machines and have a 130 (+ two 360's and an Expression 4.2). They are so quiet and solid. Your's looks to be in pristine condition too.

The machine is in amazing condition! I have heard of many Pfaffs being so dirty and needing a lot of work. Luckily not so for us. The only thing needing replacing was the plug. It appeared slightly corroded and unsafe. So this morning my DH cut the plug off. Then he found an old serger pedal that we have lying around and cut the plug off it. He soldered the serger plug in the place of the corroded Pfaff plug. I have to admit, I had my doubts that a Singer serger plug from the 90's would be compatible with a Pfaff sewing machine from the 50's, but Hubby assured me it would work. He's an electrician, so he knows. And he was 100% right. It works great! He is such a handyman!

We cleaned the laminations inside the motor housing as it ran a bit sluggish on the first try. The Pfaff motors are a bit different than Singer motors, but super easy to figure out. Now all I need to do is oil the #$%& out of it. I oiled it yesterday, but obviously not enough, because it is pretty noisy now.

Looking forward to my first applique project on her!

Here is what DH did. The white electrical tape on the old Pfaff plug is just to label it for future reference, if needed. Note the black electrical tape bulk from where he attached the new length of wire and plug. Pretty good! Now my cord is actually a good 12" longer too.

Does the chair come all the way out or do you climb in? Just thinking I'd have to watch that I didn't close a cat up in there.

Haha, Jokir44! I don't have a cat, but I can imagine myself doing it. (Growing up, my sister once closed her clothes drawer with a cat inside. It was very confusing for us girls to be hearing meowing from the bureau in the middle of the night!) Yes, the chair comes out of the cabinet all the way, just like a dining chair.

Better than the sound my gandmother heard when she preheated a cat in the oven. That cat scooted when the door was opened. Cat survived.
