Because you will have to think a lot further on than just this small donation of 'not fabric' if it will be an ongoing thing.
Does the church have space to store boxes and boxes and more boxes of fabric? I've been in lots of musty churches, do you want the fabric to smell like must? And just a cautionary warning, I've been in two women's homes who offered to keep the group fabric donations and it was difficult to get through the house. Those accepting fabric really need to have a ruthless streak. Not every donation is appropriate
So, is this a one time thing? Why not assign blocks and make them at home?
