In another thread, OKsewglad showed some donation quilts she made with the Simplish pattern:
2019 Fabric Moratorium

There are videos and print directions on line, simply Google Simplish.

So basic yet it ticks off so many boxes for me. A great way to use fabric with a theme that don't necessarily connect well. You can use it for big fabrics you want to show off in the rectangles. Instead of the little plain squares you can put in some pieced blocks. All different ways to sash, border, add...

I just finished my first top during the virtual quilting weekend, I'm not 100% pleased with it, would have liked either less or more of the cheetah/leopard print but the goal was using up fabric and learning how to work with the design so I did that! I wrote down notes to myself and developed it slightly differently than the published pattern using 4" (finished) squares, 4x8" rectangles, and 2" sashing.

I'm calling it "Here Kitty Kitty" and the leaves and the jungle cat prints came out of fabric I had left from swaps back around Y2K -- the leopard print was clothing scraps that weren't quite the best size for this project (thought it was yardage but it was a long skinny strip) plus I had to buy the jungle print with the pandas in it because I just didn't have anything better.
