Quiltingshorttimer..............this was a 78 x 97 size quilt so it was heavy to move around trying to get the backing back together, reason for doing it on my cutting table instead of trying to put it back together with my regular sewing machine. I should have known this quilt was going to be a problem as I had issues putting the batting together too. Decided to piece a bunch of my larger cutoffs together using batting tape and my mind told me one thing but my eyes weren't listening I guess. Thought I had the correct size batting and threw it onto the backing and couldn't figure out why it was so much less wide than the backing. I measured it, then checked my page with all my measurements and saw my mistake. Back to the cutting table to find another cutoff the correct side to add to it so my batting looks like something out of a Frankenstine movie.
Good news is.................. I've just trimmed it but no pics yet. Still have the binding to add to it but that will be maybe tomorrow. Take a break from this problem child I created. It came out great though so I'm happy about that plus I now have enough leftover fabric cutoff from the backing to make a reading pillow for the recipent..........a little girl named Rosie. She's had a hard life and she's not even 10 years old yet. So thought making her a quilt for her new bedroom with a pillowcase to go with it as well as a throw pillow would be the trick to let her know she's loved. I've never met her but I know her guardians so know she'll be loved by them and well taken care of. Pictures will be added later. Just as a teaser.............I found a quilt pattern called............Pixelated Rose.......hint, hint.............her name is Rosies and she loves roses with colors of pinks, reds and purples.
