Quiltingshorttimer..............this was a 78 x 97 size quilt so it was heavy to move around trying to get the backing back together, reason for doing it on my cutting table instead of trying to put it back together with my regular sewing machine. I should have known this quilt was going to be a problem as I had issues putting the batting together too. Decided to piece a bunch of my larger cutoffs together using batting tape and my mind told me one thing but my eyes weren't listening I guess. Thought I had the correct size batting and threw it onto the backing and couldn't figure out why it was so much less wide than the backing. I measured it, then checked my page with all my measurements and saw my mistake. Back to the cutting table to find another cutoff the correct side to add to it so my batting looks like something out of a Frankenstine movie.
Good news is.................. I've just trimmed it but no pics yet. Still have the binding to add to it but that will be maybe tomorrow. Take a break from this problem child I created. It came out great though so I'm happy about that plus I now have enough leftover fabric cutoff from the backing to make a reading pillow for the recipent..........a little girl named Rosie. She's had a hard life and she's not even 10 years old yet. So thought making her a quilt for her new bedroom with a pillowcase to go with it as well as a throw pillow would be the trick to let her know she's loved. I've never met her but I know her guardians so know she'll be loved by them and well taken care of. Pictures will be added later. Just as a teaser.............I found a quilt pattern called............Pixelated Rose.......hint, hint.............her name is Rosies and she loves roses with colors of pinks, reds and purples.

Lindaschipper, there might have been. I've been making quilts during that time but not quilting them quilted. I've now got 12 more to quilt after this one plus 1 I want to get put together before my quilt retreat in September. Now that its warmed up outside I've been spending my time on outside projects..............resetting my brick walkway out back, laying a brick border around all my flower beds, installing a privacy fence (only helped with that one) and I still need to add the brick border around my 2 trees out front. Waiting for Fall for that project. Plus the veggie and flower gardens need tending. Plus I'm redesigning my flower beds, transplanting what I have to another location but had to wait for the fence to be installed before I could even start it. Now I have to wait till Fall to move the rest of the plants. Always something to take me away from my sewing room.

QuiltMom2, I frog enough stitches as it is and since I'd stitched 2 full rows of my E2E, it would have taken me more than what I'd want to spend doing so plus not to mention the hardship on the back bending over the frame to take them all out. Decided to cut the backing and add it to the end would be easier....................at least I thought it would be. Anyway, its all done, I'm happy with the results and I'm sure the little girl that will receive this quilt will be happy with it too.
