i usually use a 75/11 for piecing of any type.
what will make the most difference for paper piecing is to:
- use a smaller than normal stitch size. do make sure you can get the tip of a stitch picker (what others call a seam ripper) under the stitch in case you need to un-sew.
-use the thinnest paper you can. newsprint is great for paper piecing. you can buy pads of it for a low price in the kids' arts & crafts section of most stores.
