Needle Size for Paper Piecing
I'm going to try the paper piecing method using freezer paper. Since I won't be sewing through the paper, should I use a size 80/12 needle instead of a 90/14? Which size do you use?

i usually use a 75/11 for piecing of any type.
what will make the most difference for paper piecing is to:
- use a smaller than normal stitch size. do make sure you can get the tip of a stitch picker (what others call a seam ripper) under the stitch in case you need to un-sew.
-use the thinnest paper you can. newsprint is great for paper piecing. you can buy pads of it for a low price in the kids' arts & crafts section of most stores.

Paper piecing using the freezer paper method is the best. Mr. Domestic has an awesome tutorial on Youtube, it's where I first saw it and tried a few blocks, and fell in love. I use either an 80/12 or 90/14 needle for piecing.
