tohkatz68, I love your Road to Florida quilt; great use of those repro fabrics!

Teen, that is ever so beautiful! Thank you for the pattern info!

My kitted up quilts are turning out to be great leader/ender projects, which I hadn't foreseen. I would like your opinions on one of these, consisting of horizontal staggered strips using a repeated placement of a group of fabrics. I neglected to plan properly and ran out of that group of fabrics; this resulted in a squat shape that was slightly wider than it was long, rather than a rectangle. I don't need the quilt to be a certain size, but I think as a rectangle the proportions would be more pleasing.

I thought about adding a border, thin on the sides and thick top and bottom, but even with that the quilt would be squarish rather than rectangular. My question is, would you bring in a new group of fabrics to extend the quilt, if they were compatible with the original group of fabrics? The first photo shows the strips up on the wall, unsewn; the second shows the fabric I settled on to use as the possible border, and the third photo shows the partial quilt with new fabrics lined up along the bottom. So, what do you think you would do? Extend quilt with border, add new fabrics, or both, or neither?
