New fabrics look great to me. If you want to be sure they blend in, add them to top AND bottom ... And if you really want to nerd out - you can (carefully) remove a line of stitching across the middle, add some new pieces there too. Then your "new" fabrics will be completely integrated into the overall design.

I had to do some thing like this with a jelly roll race. Even though I pulled random- for some reason all of my darkest fabrics ended up in one blob. Very unappealing. Needed to be fixed/ balanced.
