Well I'm doing pretty darn good on not buying fabric! I did go check today to see if a small wool quilt tied with embroidery floss was sold or not, and it found a new home without me so good deal.
I've been sort of reeling in overload from the Bonnie Hunter Mystery and then my costuming, but I'm getting stuff put away and reorganized and am about to start slicing and dicing some stash and getting it done. I was looking at a book of blocks the other day and have decided on changing my first civil war quilt. Need to draft it out to my size and satisfaction. I think I'm going to be happier with this, my first one was going to be very random scrappy and this will be more "use a lot of fabric" scrappy but I will match the fabrics in each block to some extent.
First concept was Gentleman's Fancy/Rambling Rose variation, basically a lot of triangles, I would have all pieces different. Now I'm thinking of Joseph's Coat, where i emphasize the star shape in the center and use repeats of the same fabric in different quadrants. Each block would be shaded similarly but each would have a different set of fabrics. Maybe sash wide with star points at the sashing?? Something to think about.
I do have my fast black and white and minions top to do next though. I should also make one more piece of bias binding for a previous project before I actually start that. Think I feel motivated enough to get off the computer and get that going so I can cut it apart tomorrow at group.
