Last time I went to JoAnns (45 miles away) I was going to buy notions on a "buy one get one free" sale. There were 2 or 3 other ladies standing there too, picking out needles, pins, and fusicle interfacings. We all followed each other up to the checkout and went to the parking lot about the same time. I got into my car and checked my receipt.... they seemed to have rung it up wrong. I got out of my car, and sure enough, the other two ladies were going back into the store also! We all went to the cashier together to say that they had not given us the correct prices. It turned out that somewhere on the store sign, it said "the free item would be the lowest priced item". It certaintly didnt say that in the ad, or on my coupon, so I figured it was a true "buy one get one free" sale. So if I bought two of the things I needed (two packs of needles, two packs of interfacing) I would get the second one free. NOPE. SO, I returned everything and asked her to give me cash back. I then proceeded to purchase everything in sets of two and pay for them that way with the cash she gave me back. That way I really did get the second item free. It really pissed me off! The ladies in back of me then followed my lead and did the same thing! The clerk was nice, and said she knew where we were coming from, and said that the highest management knew this was a problem but hadnt done anything about it. My other coupons rang up right... the percentage off ones. BUT I do watch them like a hawk, as someone else said!
