not try plugging the light in until someone familiar with electrical stuff looks at it. I'm not electrically inclined, but John is and he said that he may be able to tell if it was the plug itself or if it was in the wiring for light by the spark pattern.
The block cord like those in the links above would need to have the foot controller wired before plugging the motor plug in and then into the wall outlet.

The part needing to be replaced is the light cord plug from the machine. I question if I can find a plug to replace the plug that shorted or will the entire wiring need to placed? The motor plug remains functional.
