I can recall when I was 8 or 9 and going to my grandmother's. She and several ladies surrounded the quilt that Gram had pieced and they were handquilting the quilt. The wooden quilting frame was over the bed. They gave me a needle and thread and allowed me to stitch and I now assume they pulled my stitches out, but I was part of their "Quilting Bee". I vowed then to someday do what they were doing. I took me another 35 or so years to get started. This would have been in the early 40s, therefore making me a "youngster". Right?
