UFO top completed! Wahoo!
i cant remember when I started assembling the blocks with donated Bert, Ernie, and Big Bird pieces. I do know its been well over a year. I would pull them out and work on them, put them away, pull them out, etc. I was planning to make enough 10.5 blocks for a 70 by 80 quilt top for my church quilting group. However, frustration and perhaps a light bulb moment had me thinking 1/2 pieced blocks and 1/2 plain blocks with a border would get me to the finish faster.
The orange is a batik and was in a donation. I had cut it into 10.5 strips somewhere along the line. It was not dyed evenly so I fussy cut 10.5 squares for the top and then some smaller squares before I cut the rest to 1.5 strips.
I still have a bunch of the Bert, Ernie, and Big Bird pieces. I am going to count them and then decide on how big to make them with scrap pieces. They will be combined with other blocks too.
