I have narrowed down my block and getting the pattern printed out now...love the quilterscache.com for projects like this. I haven't done much sewing other than what had to be done for several months, so glad to finally have something to be excited about in the quilt room!!

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

A little about me... I have lived in Iowa all of my life. I've been married for over 23 yrs to my "high school sweetheart". We have three children (18, 20, and 22). Only the youngest is at home now...she is trying to finish getting her license to be an esthetician if the school would ever open again. She was supposed to start classes next week but they have moved it off again until July 6th. We'll see. In the meantime she is working full time. The other two are still living nearby for now...my son shoots archery nationally. He was in CA living at the Olympic Training Center before the virus stuff started and he got sent home. So far they have rescheduled outdoor tournaments to start in August (usually the 1st is in April). He has gone back to work for the contractor he had worked for for 4+yrs...started at 16 (benefit of being homeschooled!). Moved out last month. Our oldest daughter lives in a nearby city and has struggled a bit but trying to get her life in order now.

I decided at 18 (right after we were married) that I wanted to learn to sew. I made clothing for the first few years for myself and our girls. My first quilt was in 2007 and I haven't turned back since...almost 80 quilts finished to date, not counting wallhangings, table runners, etc. Of course there are flimsies I need to get quilted one of these days and that number would jump up pretty quickly. Like many of you I have a small sewing machine collection...my old machines are all Singers. I can't rattle off the models of each, but I have a treadle that was my great-grandma's, a machine that was my husband's grandma's, plus one in a cabinet (this one I got at a garage sale when I first started sewing for $25 and still works great) and another with a rounded top wooded case (this one needs some wiring done, but they all run if needed). My daily machine is a Janome 6600. Oh yeah and I got one this past fall that is in a desk type cabinet. It needs a bobbin case, but isn't locked up or anything...
