You're going to write to the advertiser.... because of their choices in advertising? Is that what you meant to say? If so, I'm not sure how successful your letter will be, because to them, it's nothing more than confirmation that you saw the ad.

Maybe you meant to say you want to write to the owner of this board?

Here's how it works: The forum software has code written into it that directs Google (for example) to insert an ad into a space on the forum. When you log into the forum, Google will read your cookie history and load an ad based on what you've accessed or looked at recently. This is why nearly every website you go to now has a banner that says "click to accept cookies" or it doesn't allow you to access that website. This is also why, when my husband is researching fishing poles or some such thing, fishing pole ads will then show up in my Facebook feed. Grrrr.
