I purchased a Pfaff Performance 5.2 slightly used, less than 8 hours of use, and have found it to be a good dependable machine. For me it is not one to haul to retreats, too heavy, but as I have gotten to know it and Googled for tutorials now and again, it has been a good solid machine for my use. I was particularly interested in the larger arm/harp space and that make a big difference in my quilting.

Purchasing a new machine is a big decision. Take your time after you decide on the features that matter most to you. Also important is to purchase from a shop or have easy access to a shop with a Pfaff expert. The shop I purchased from has a good reputation in the community and I got a deal on my machine. But, sadly, the person who sat with me for my "training" read to me from the manual and fumbled with adding feet, programing the special features and so on. The shop is now closed and the nearest shop is more than an hour away.
