I am right handed, so my perspective may be inaccurate. But I use and love the spring loaded scissors from fiskars (
https://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-No-8-.../dp/B00006IFNC). I believe the grip would be acceptable for a left handed person, but I don't know about any other features that may need to be considered. just thought I would *try* to help.
