I understand folks concern for the threads but my concern takes a slightly different direction. Because a baby quilt will be washed more often simply because of use by a little one potentially the beautiful work of raw edge applique could potentially fray too much and become loose past that inner stitching. I agree with Panchita. I would suggest keeping your fine work for when the child is older or as part of a wall quilt to decorate the baby's room. .
