I made a beautiful raw-edge appliquéd quilt for my grandson. I thought I had secured the edges well. A couple of years later I saw the quilt. The baby's mom washed the quilt very frequently. Not only had it faded, but many of the appliqués had pulled apart. I would not do it again unless I knew the quilt would be used for decor, not for every day use.
