DH just got one earlier today. "Amazon" supposedly wanted $40 to renew my Prime membership. 1. Prime membership is a lot more than $40. 2. Mine renews automatically in January, charged to the credit card on file. 3. "Amazon" called the house phone, which is not the phone number associated with my account.
We get a call on the house phone at least once a week about "suspicious charges on your account." Again, that's the wrong phone number, and Amazon sends me a confirmation text to my cell when I make a purchase. No text, no charges.
