After you choose the picture you have to slide the box over to the right. to do this get the arrow on the right line and holding it move over and you will see upload.
Or you can make the box bigger by dragging one of the corners out.
Some email clients will automatically reduce the size of your photos. I email them to myself on my phone, and my email client will resize the photo so it's about 1 mb or so.
