There is no such thing as "messed up" when quilting! So called "messes" can make the most interesting quilts. We quilt from the heart, not from the color wheel. If you don't like it now, you can always tweek things...such as stitch applique in the middle, or making a mini quilt from the fabric you used to make the quilt and applique the mini in there, until you are happy with your creation.

My BIL was a western water color artist. Once, I looked in his trash can and here were all these gorgeous paintings in there. I asked if I could have the "trash" and he said "no" because he only wanted his best work to be seen by the public. I thought he was being silly, but I learned the lesson that something you create does not have to be "perfect" to be loved and enjoyed.
