Like Pamar, my sewing room is in the smallest bedroom of my small house and the door is usually open, so I also need to keep it presentable. My entire stash, UFOs, and numerous supplies are all in the small 1940s closet to prevent sun damage. I used metal shelves & numerous tension shelves to massively expand the storage inside the closet. My rulers are hung on these purse hangers, they nest together and are only as wide as the rulers and width of the gauge of the wire, once nested. I have rectangular rulers on one, squares on another, wedges on another, add-a-quarters on another, you get it. I also use one to hang my large color wheel and rulers in Ziplocs with the directions. They are really accessible but out of sight when the closet doors are closed. I found them on Amazon and got the idea from a YouTube video on organizing closets.
