I found the answer on an
Amazon page for the plate with those markings. The question was "
What is the distance of the markings?" The answer was "
Markings are in 1/8" increments."
Therefore from the needle to the markings the measurements means
2 = 1/4"
3 = 3/8"
4 = 1/2"
5 = 5/8"
6 = 3/4"
7 = 7/8"
