We bought one at the beginning of the pandemic. It was cheap and didn't last too long. One thing that I learned is that oil is still needed, just not as much. We would lightly toss French fries in olive oil. We did not replace it.
I have found the oven at 425 degrees does the same thing. We make oven fries all the time. Recently, I discovered that a bag of frozen veggies tossed in oil on parchment paper, baked for 25 minutes is perfect.
We switched from fresh to frozen vegetables because the fresh would spoil before using it all. Haven't thrown out any rotten veggies!
