Thank you all so much for all the suggestions. I think I might need a bit of padding for a floor quilt. I was babysitting the other day and at 6 months he’s bonking his head on the floor a bit!

I like all these ideas I’ll have to go away and think a bit more.

I was going to post the photos of the quilt that my son and DIL do use so it’s not that they don’t like quilts. I made one for the baby (first grandchild) and found it stuffed up high in an inaccessible cupboard in their house. They must not have liked the design, I guess. Not baby enough? I haven’t asked my son about it yet. Anyway I’ve recovered and am determined to make a “good” one for my other son and other very lovely DIL!

If you can access my “album” you can see the seascape quilt I made that they use. The “quilt for Dylan” is the one they don’t use.
Thr seascape quilt has a really soft thin polyester batting but it’s not as drapy as I’d like. The fire quilt has a better quality polyester batting but it’s still a bit stiff. I’ll look at fleece and bamboo and see what they feel like.
